Removing Chemicals and Cleaning...
IS NOT ENOUGH!
"Many cleaning methods do not remove methamphetamine and the chemicals used to produce it. Incompletely or improperly cleaned surfaces, such as floors, countertops and drywall can remain contaminated for months or even years, even after many cleanups. Some methods are destructive or use more corrosive substances and the resulting chemical residues are themselves toxic." Homeland Security
With regard to environmental concerns and the importance having a home, mobile home, hotel room, storage facility, vehicles or commercial building decontaminated. The off gasses and improper or disposal of chemicals last for years. Simply removing chemicals, cleaning and painting are not enough. The off gasses will continue to leach from the surfaces and can have harmful effects to family members, children and pets.

What to do if your property was used for a Meth Lab?
The EPA has established two basic efforts that must occur to ensure contaminated real estate is made safe for occupants. Removal of gross contamination (containers of chemicals) and remediation of the earth, surface waters and groundwater. Remediation must also occur in the interiors of the structure to ensure that all surfaces and the atmosphere are safe for occupancy.
The by-products of the drug manufacturing process are often disposed of indiscriminately by the laboratory operator to avoid detection. For every pound of methamphetamine produced, five to six pounds of toxic waste is produced. This can pose not only a significant human health, but also an environmental hazard. Spilling chemicals on the floor; dumping waste into bathtubs, sinks, toilets; or on the grounds.
